PEEK polymers of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) are obtained by gradual growth polymerization. PEEK is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are preserved at high temperatures. PEEK is considered one of the highest performance engineering thermoplastics in the world.

PEEK is used to manufacture articles used in demanding applications in the aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, and medical industries. PEEK filament has unique properties because it does not come into contact with water during the production process and is packed directly in vacuum packaging. These properties make PEEK filament especially suitable for use in FDM and FFF 3D printers. The material has excellent interlayer adhesion, resulting in greatly improved impact resistance, strength, durability, and the printing process.

Recommended printing conditions:

Extruder temperature: 375 - 410 ° C (lower than competitive PEEK filaments)

Bed temperature: 130 - 160 ° C

Case temperature (if your printer is equipped): 70 - 150 ° C

Print speed: 10-50mm / s for 0.2mm layer height, fast as indicated by results Annealed (post crystallization)

3D printed PEEK parts: PEEK printed parts must be annealed after printing to increase the crystallinity of the resin. Annealing will maximize mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance properties.

You can follow these annealing instructions for your PEEK parts. :

Step 1: Place the printed parts in a cool oven at room temperature.

Step 2. Set the temperature to 120 ° C and allow it to stabilize for 1 hour.

Step 3: After 1 hour, increase the oven temperature to 150 ° C and allow it to stabilize for an additional 1-3 hours (more for thicker / larger pieces).

Step 4: After heating to 150 ° C in Step 3, reduce the heat to 100 ° C and allow it to stabilize for 30 minutes.

Step 5: After 30 minutes, turn off the oven and allow the printed parts to return to room temperature inside the oven when cool.
